Energy saving upgrade at Saint-Gobain HQ

Saint-Gobain, a world leader in the design, production and distribution of construction materials owns several builders merchants in the UK & Ireland including Jewson, Graham The Plumber’s Merchant and Ideal Bathrooms. As part of a refurbishment project for a new office (Orchard House) at its HQ in Coventry, Saint-Gobain asked Quicklight to help the company save energy and reduce carbon emissions by replacing 80 old and inefficient lights with new LED lighting.

Compared to the old lighting, the new LED lights give Saint-Gobain an annual energy cost saving of 61% and will reduce the carbon footprint from 12.5 to 4.9 tonnes – a total carbon saving of 7.62 tonnes per year. Due to the age of the existing fittings and drop off in lamp efficiency, lighting levels at Orchard House have improved and will remain more consistent throughout the life of the product.

The upgrade was completed in just one day and we are very pleased with the improved light levels. It gives us a much better working environment with good energy savings. We’ve asked Quicklight to roll out the same LED light fittings to the other buildings at our HQ.
